Host Defense emerged from the fusion of skill sets from two experts: Paul Stamets and C. Dusty Yao. Paul's longtime expertise in mushroom taxonomy and cultivation perfectly complimented Dusty's years of making herbal extracts. The union - literally - of these two gave rise to Host Defense.
